Data deletion request
Last updated: 5 August 2026
How to request deletion
Email info@compera.co.uk from the address associated with your Compera Social account, or from an email address we already hold for your restaurant. Use the subject line “Data deletion request” so it reaches the right team.
If you cannot email us from a known address, we may ask for additional verification before acting on the request. This protects your account from deletion by someone who is not authorised to make the request.
What to include in your request
- Your full name and the email address used for your account.
- The restaurant or venue name, and the Facebook Page or Instagram professional account it is connected to.
- Whether you want the entire account deleted, or only the connection to a specific Facebook Page or Instagram account removed.
- Any deadline or regulatory context we should be aware of, so we can prioritise correctly.
What we delete
Where a valid erasure request applies, we remove:
- Your user account, login credentials, sessions and role assignments.
- Restaurant profile details, brand voice settings and stored venue knowledge.
- Uploaded photography and media assets, including generated variants and image analysis records.
- Content plans, drafts, captions, scheduled posts and approval history.
- Access tokens and identifiers for connected Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts, and any Platform Data we retrieved using them.
Deleting your Compera Social account does not delete posts that were already published to your own Facebook or Instagram accounts. Those remain under your control and can be removed directly from Meta’s tools.
When the right to erasure does not apply
The right to erasure is not absolute. We may retain certain records where we are legally required or entitled to do so, including:
- Billing, invoicing and accounting records, kept for the period required by UK tax and company law.
- Records used for fraud prevention, security monitoring and abuse-prevention investigations, kept for a limited period.
- Records needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to comply with a regulator or court order.
Retained records are minimised, access-restricted, and deleted once the retention period ends.
How long it takes
Valid erasure requests are handled without undue delay and normally within one calendar month of receiving a verified request. Additional time may occasionally be required for complex or numerous requests; if that happens, we will tell you why and give you a revised timeframe.
As an internal service target, we aim to acknowledge requests within five working days. That acknowledgement target is not a statutory deadline.
Encrypted backups are rotated on a scheduled cycle, so residual copies may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.
